President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the Minister of Sport Bolaji Abdullahi. He is to be replaced by Dr Tamuno Danagogo from Rivers State.
The sack came as a shock to many Nigerians giving that the FIFA World Cup is less than four months away. Bolaji Abdullahi is regarded as the best Sport Minister Nigeria has had in a long time. Abdullahi was appointed as the Minister of Youth Development by Jonathan
in July 2011. He is said to have performed above average since he
assumed office, and has been widely praised for his pro-active and
youth-friendly approach.
